A different kind of wildlife park: the predator eco-park
EcoZonia describes itself as an eco-park: from the start, it was designed to limit its impact on local natural resources, especially water, energy and the landscape.
The park is organised into ecozones, areas representing a major ecological region of the world, each linked to a conservation organisation working in the field. Today you can explore the Amur River EcoRegion, “Land of extremes”, and the Andes Cordillera EcoRegion, “Land of the Incas”.

Conservation at the heart of the project
- European breeding programmes: EcoZonia takes part in the EEP and ESB programmes, which aim to maintain viable populations of endangered species through coordinated breeding, within EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquaria).
- Where the animals come from: they were born in zoological parks or breeding centres, or come from rescue centres. In line with EAZA guidelines, non-domestic animals have no commercial value.
- Support in the field: the park supports organisations that protect species in the wild, preserving both their habitat and the animals.
- Raising awareness: information panels, workshops and activities explain how everyone can help protect biodiversity.
